We
are an independent nonprofit organization, governed by a board of directors
and managed by an executive director. We receive no government funding
and are supported entirely by donations, grants and fundraisers. All of
our services are free and offered without restrictions of residency or
income. It is only through the generous financial gifts of donors and
the time and dedication of our volunteers that Mother
& Child Education
Center is able to
serve the vital needs of pregnant women, mothers and their children.
Help
Financially
It costs about $17,000 each month to keep the doors and phone lines open
at Mother & Child
Education Center. We are grateful for the financial
gifts of the many generous persons who underwrite our ministry.
Some
opportunities for giving:
Baby
Bottle Campaign
Fill a baby bottle with coins. Your small change can
make a big change for someone small. If your church or school does not
have a Mother & Child baby bottle fundraiser, you can do your own
baby bottle drive. Buy a few bottles at a variety store,
share them with friends. Turn in the filled bottles
directly to Mother & Child and tour the center. A
well-filled bottle can buy a week’s worth of baby formula.
Bequests
There are many ways to leave a legacy gift. Contact our treasurer max.mcguire@motherandchild-edu.org
for information.
Monthly
Contribution
Sign up for automatic withdrawals from your checking or debit account.
Memorials
& Honoraria
This is a particularly fitting way to honor someone who has nurtured you—a
parent, mentor or teacher.
Stocks
or Securities

your gift or make a donation in recognition of your volunteer time. You
may also designate Mother & Child to receive your United Way or Combined Federal Campaign contributions.

Teamwork!
Divide the workload and multiply the fun. Here are some ideas to get you
started thinking about how your family and circle of friends can welcome
and nurture the children in our community. (For more ideas, contact martha.maciver@motherandchild-edu.org.)
Kids
of all ages
Fill a baby bottle with coins. Kids really love this activity and it’s
a great opportunity to teach your children the joy of giving to others.
Youth
groups
Help prepare and distribute flowers for Mothers Day. Schedule a work party
to bundle baby clothes, do light gardening, or stuff and label mailings.
Hold a diaper drive or baby shower.
Men’s
Organizations
Schedule a work party to do heavy seasonal gardening, or a work weekend
to help complete a “honey-do” list of repairs. Commit to regular prayer
support for the ministry. Bring a few guys to the Second Saturday Open
House to help set-up/tear-down, serve refreshments or direct traffic.
Women’s
Organizations
Provide flowers and a welcome home meal to post partum mothers. Hold a
baby shower. Collect maternity and nursing mother garments—all sizes and
styles are needed. Become a mother’s mentor. (Knitting. Sewing.
Baking. Budgeting. Caring for a sick child. Simple and sane kids’ parties.)
